About Me
Jannik Schmidt
I was born in 1996 in Eutin, Germany.
Since I can think, I have always loved music and heard a lot.
Already in the early kindergarten age I started to drum around on tables and windows until my parents gave me a small electronic drumset for Christmas at a young age. Every free minute I sat at the drumset and drummed around for hours, from morning till evening, but unfortunately the damn drumset broke down every now and then, so I had to give it up in the end.
From now on I got to know the wide range of music. Thanks to my parents I got a taste of everything and discovered the music for myself. Queen, AC/DC, Metallica, Falco, Rammstein and last but not least: The Beatles.
Until today it’s my absolute favourite band, but then I got to know something new: the orchestra. Film music or so-called soundtracks. I was fascinated by such an incredible strength that music can radiate. Especially music in trailers absolutely fascinated me.
A few years later, I received a keyboard for Christmas. The first days I was enthusiastic, but I lost interest in it very quickly and put it in a corner where it stayed for some time.
In 2007 I surprisingly got a real drum kit for my birthday. Full of joy and excitement I sat down and played. My parents were amazed at how I had played drums without ever having had a single lesson. A short time later the keyboard also came back into play, when my brother came to me one day and we tried to play a melody together. Suddenly it started to be a lot of fun for me and this time I got stuck with the keyboard. So, I taught myself how to play the piano.
Now I was ready to get started. I started to create my first melodies and proudly presented them to my parents. It was a very memorable moment once when I played my own melody to my brother, but he claimed that I hadn’t done it because it sounded “too good”. I knew I wanted more.
Finally, I acquired a music program and got to know the different facets of music production. Arranging, composing, mixing… all these things that go with it. I founded my first small trailer music company in 2010, with which I made my first contacts from New York and released several small albums.
After all, there’s nothing in the world I enjoy more than making music.
