About Me
Jannik Schmidt
I was born in 1996 in Eutin, Germany.
Since I could remember, I have always loved music and listened a lot.
Already in the early kindergarten age, I started to drum around on tables and windows until my parents handed me a small electronic drum set for Christmas. Every free minute I sat at the drum set and played for hours, from morning till evening – unfortunately the damn drumset broke down every now and then, so I had to give it up in the end.
From then on I got to know the wide range of music. Thanks to my parents I got a taste of everything and discovered music for myself. Queen, AC/DC, Metallica, Falco, Rammstein and last but not least: The Beatles.
Until today the Beatles are my absolute favourite band, but apart from them I also got to know something else: the orchestra and how it can be used in film music and soundtracks. I was fascinated by the incredible strength that music can radiate. Especially music in trailers absolutely captivated me.
In 2007 I surprisingly got a real drum kit for my birthday. Full of joy and excitement I sat down and played. My parents were amazed at how I had played the drums without ever having had a single lesson. A short time later I also regained an interest in the keyboard, after abandoning it on my first try a couple years back, when my brother came to me one day and we tried to play a melody together. Suddenly it started to be a lot of fun for me and this time I stuck with it. So I taught myself how to play the piano.
Finally, I acquired a music program and got to know the different facets of music production. Arranging, composing, mixing… all these things that go with it. I founded my first small trailer music company in 2010, with which I made my first contacts from New York and released several small albums.
After all, there’s nothing in the world I enjoy more than making music.
